i was at this show, and i can attest to the weather being outrageously hot and humid, but also to typicaldaydream's comment about the crowd controlled weather...it was like everyone groovin getting super sweaty during the barn burning first set tunes like saturday night, cumberland, uncle, brown eyed, etc. but then as soon as a tune was done the crowd would sorta slow down to a stop and a wave of wind would rush through and you could see the joyon everyones face from both the music and the weather. 2nd set was a real nice layout, incredible. dragged along a couple first timers, they couldnt believe it. thanks again to the kid on the hill outside the venue selling cheap, and extremely potent mushrooms. went to jones beach the next night had a good time, except for the scene--no drinking, no EZ-ups, no real drugs

Great show. I remember the second set being better than the first. But this band has class. Listen to the 'Me and My Uncle' if you want an example.

Subject: Levon?
Does anyone know where Levon Helm's set from this show can be found?

The show and venue were great.

The day was hot as balls. Everyone was a sweaty nasty mess, and loved it. it was so hott and humid the crowd had its own cloud of weather surrounding it that channelled energy. Everyone was getting down hard from the first note struck to the last string plucked. Im from rochester as well, and this was by far the coolest thing that ever hit highland park. THe jones beach show the next night was ok, but not nearly as raging as this one. a venue that doesn't even sell beer or allow drinking in the lot is a super downer. On top of that long islanders are whiny, and all they do is complain about shit, and are genuinely awful people to be surrounded by. Awesome recording of the show, the help slip franklins at the end was a certainly a treat. My head was spun off a slice of the finest fungus the whole show, and i couldnt have had a better time.

Thanks for all your efforts and for uploading this show so quickly. With the amount of mics showing, I couldn't wait to get a copy of it. It truly was a very hot day, but the music was even hotter! Levon warmed us up nicely, and then Phil's band came on like gang busters! Jackie Greene gets better and better. Nice selection of tunes for us that day. Thanks again. Peace, Bernie

Thanks for doing what you do and having this show up so quick. It was a hot day and an even hotter show. Funny thing happened on the way to the show... pouring down rain, then on comes Looks Like Rain, skies cleared right up and the day was simply amazing... I knew at that moment the show was going to be nothing but great! Thanks again!

Subject: What a show!!!
My wife and I attended this concert and we were blown away. After the incredible "One More Saturday Night" opener, I told my wife I'd already gotten my money's worth. Then the band proceeded to give one one smokin' number after another. How about that "Me & My Uncle"? And the "Cosmic Charlie"? Incredible.

The Levon Helm Band was really awesome, too. They are not to be missed, if you ever get the chance to see them. Larry Campbell plays strings in LHB and Phil & Friends. Sensational guitar player.

We thoroughly enjoyed this concert. It's one of the best in my lifetime, I do believe. The bands and the weather were hot. Everyone was REALLY HAPPY. We had a riot.

So far, the recording sounds nice! I will be listening to the whole thing all day.

Thanks for getting this show up so fast!
